She was born in Grand Rapids on July 28, 1943. Bette graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1961. She was married to James Buffington on April 26, 1975.
Bette worked for the Comprehensive Therapy Center and had a passion for sewing, crochet, and genealogy.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brian.
Bette is survived by her husband James, son David and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505, on March 22, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the same location on March 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
