Carl is survived by his best friend; his adored wife of 52 years; Diane, their children Jeff (Jennifer) Pinard, Reneé (Dave) Szurna, Christine (David) VanDam, and grandchildren; Brianna VanDam, Eva VanDam, Alana VanDam, Lexi Szurna, Ashley Szurna, and Jacob Szurna. Carl is also survived by his siblings, Tom (Marj) Pinard, Paula (Chuck) Cole, David Pinard, and many nieces and nephews.
Carl proudly served in the United States Air Force, during which time he worked as an intercept for 2 years in Japan and 2 years in England. He loved his time in England, where he would thoroughly enjoy spending time with fencing clubs.
Carl also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Everything the great outdoors had to offer, he appreciated. Every year Carl spent Labor Day with his family in St. Ignace, MI. He was always loyal to his traditions and he was a great source of support and care to his family always. He loved his family.
Carl will be missed by many.
