Carol, my wife Bonnie's sister, will be missed but never forgotten by all her family and friends. Carol had a warm and calm personality in any situation, whether simple fun or difficult task. Although we lived far from Grand Rapids, Carol kept in touch with our family through visits when possible and regular phone conversations with Bonnie. Carol often shared the last couple of minutes of those phone calls with me, bringing me up to date with the latest on the Michigan Wolverines teams. She sent me GR Press news clippings about the team and for my birthday or Christmas often sent U of M related gifts. One of her gifts - very special to me - was a little replica of the Michigan football helmet that when struck, played "Hail to the Victors" and yelled out "Let's Go Blue!" and Carol, that little helmet still works. My thoughts and condolences go out to Sandy, Mark, Bonnie, Bill, and Jim and all your many family members. And to Carol I will simply look up toward heaven and say "Let's Go Blue!"

I am so sad to hear about Carol. My mom, Rita Riolo, worked with Carol for many years. My aunt Lucille Gaca told me about Carol's passing. I'm so sad for her family. So sorry to hear of Carol's passing.  I remember her fondly.

I had the privilege to work with Carol, whom I called my “office mom”, for 30 yrs.  No matter what question I threw at her, she'd know the answer.  "How do you get here, where can I find this, I'm throwing a party, what should I make, how is so & so?"  She just knew it all.  No one could ever pull anything over on us.  We always called ourselves the great detectives.  Her laugh was contagious.  I don't think there was ever a day that went by that I didn't get to hear her hearty laugh.  After she retired, there were days that I'd just have to hear her laugh so I'd call her on the phone periodically and get her caught up on what was happening and she'd laugh through my whole conversation.  She was very protective of her family.  You never said anything against them or she had no problem putting you in your place.  She would be so proud telling me everyday about who was doing what and showing me the cute pictures of all the nieces & nephews.  I always brought it up that when I retired we were going to go to Arizona & find us a duplex & live there.  I'm so thankful I was able to take her out for her birthday a couple months ago & sit there & get her caught up on what was happening.  She's only been gone a little while & I'm already missing her like crazy.  I loved her like she was my real mom.  I feel like a part of my heart is missing because nobody will be able to replace her.  Please know that her dear family is in my thoughts and prayers.
