Celia Elaine Bickel-Beals

Celia Elaine Bickel-Beals, age 41, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016. Celia was born January 18, 1975 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Celia will be deeply missed by her loving husband Christopher Sean Beals, their son Jared Christopher Beals and daughter Jordan Elaine Beals, her parents David P. Bickel and Brenda L. [Derby] Bickel, her mother and father-in-law Mary Beth and Gene Beals, her sister Shannon (Jim) Warner, sister and brother-in-law Rebecca (John) Bernhardt, nieces and nephew Jenna, Jessica and Justin Warner. She will also be remembered by her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends. Celia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. Her Family was the embodiment of her soul. She was a volunteer for AYSO and also loved to help out with the Cummings Elementary PTC, where she would assist with field trips and activities with her children. Celia attended Indiana University South Bend graduating with her Bachelors of Science in Public Affairs. She currently worked for BICO Michigan in Grand Rapids. Celia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Doris Derby, Mary Jo and Earl Bickel, her Uncle Kenneth Bickel, Aunt Gwendolyn [Derby] Lathwell and Uncle Robert McBride Jr. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Mercy Health Lacks Cancer Center and the Hauenstein Intensive Care Unit for the comforting and loving care given to Celia. Please join the family for visitation on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Parish (2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504) on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11am, with an additional hour of visitation prior beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Celia’s memory to either the Indiana University South Bend General Studies Endowment P37RR04063 (1700 W. Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615), Leukemia Research Foundation (191 Waukegan Rd. Ste. 105, Northfield, IL 60093) or the college funds for Celia's children.
