Dawn, Dan & Doug - I am so very sorry to hear of Dan's passing.  As with everyone else, I was in shock when I heard the news, having just seen him at Dad's wake.  There he was with a smile on his face and kind words for us in our loss.  Dawn, take comfort in the large, wonderful family you and Dan created together: your boys and their boys.  You are very blessed.

Timidity found no place in his character.   Dan may have mellowed some in recent years, but during the years we hung out together he was nothing if not daring.  The rest of us novices were trying to figure out how to ask a girl out on a date.  Dan was different.  He lived the Nike slogan long before the TV commercials introduced it to the world; he just did it.  That's a pretty good skill for a young man to possess.  Dan had it in spades.  Ahhh, so that's how it's done.  Thanks, Dan.  Just one of many lessons I learned from you.  The world will be a bit dimmer for the lack of your smiling face.  Farewell friend.

To my Pa...the times we spent together will never be forgotten and can't be forgotten.  You taught me to fish, run a lawn mower, and be a better person for this world.  Words can't express the countless examples you've given me to do right onto others and I can't thank you enough for that.  You had a strong voice, Pa, but an even stronger heart.  Feel relief in the fact that you passed on a feeling of compassion to everyone you may have come in contact with.  Love You Always, Pa.  Our PaPa.....from the boys.

Many great memories with Dan (aka-LEAD)neighbor, playing baseball, basketball, fishing trips with your brother Gary, great cookies from your Mom, and 3 years of college studies. To think we lived a block away for years.. you'll be missed. I hope your family and Dawn takes rest in the fact your now 100% at rest in heaven and will find that peace in the coming months ahead.

You were both present to console us when my cousin Al passed away and again, to offer your condolences when we lost Al's son this past December. My sincere sympathy to Dawn and the entire Wiers and Pomper families.  Dan was one of my special 6th grade students.  I always enjoyed his love of live.  Joan Pomper worked with me for several years and we exchanged many family stories.  May God be with each one of you during this difficult time.

Danny you will be missed. We had many good times growing up. Our lives went separate ways however the memories will last forever. Rest in peace my friend.

I remember Dan from Lee HS, always thought he was so cute, but we were never really much more than acqauintances/ schoolmates.  My condolences to his entire family, his life was much too short, but he is in God's hands now.

My heart dropped to hear the news of Dan's passing.  We go back a very long long way from childhood, Wealthy Street Baptist, elementary and high school.  The fun we had double dating with Dan and Dawn.  Dad taught me to be a tough girl "the scrapper" and I actually carried that forward in my life.  It was even more fun when we lived on the same street.  The memories I'll cherish forever and Dawn you and your children are in my prayers. Keep the memories close and know that Dan will be watching over you always. I know the times will be tough but he will always love you all. With tears in my eyes and sorrow in my heart I wish you the best and staying strong.  We are all here for you.

I pray for God's arms of love to wrap around each family member and comfort them in their sorrow. May God's peace calm your souls. Another Lee Rebel gone too soon. See ya when I get there Dan!!!

Dan has been a best friend and mentor and coworker and sometimes when he knew I needed one a Dad to me for nearly 12 years now. I am going to miss his smile and laughter the most. He is telling jokes and funny tales in heaven at this very moment and there is no doubt about that. I hope he has a fishing pole in one hand and an ice cold beer in the other and the fish are biting. He was one of a kind and his shoes were way to big to ever be filled. I am going to miss you my friend. I have been trying to catch up with him all these years at work and never did and now he is still out in front. I will get there Dan! Keep the light on for me my friend. Have a fishing pole ready for me! Bless you and God keep you in his loving light Dan! Till we meet again in that very light!
