

David Charles Haadsma passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at age 85. He was born in Grand Rapids to Charles and Louise Haadsma. Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Nancy Antrim as well as his daughter Susan Wright. David is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Nan) and his children, David K (Carrie), Judy (Jeff) Dunst, Kathy (Vince) Labozzetta, Tom (Atsumi), and John (Cindy); son-in-law Terry Wright; grandchildren Evan, Josh, Kyle and Malea Wright, Emily (Kurt), David, Patrick, Colleen, Brian, Amy Haadsma, Jeffrey and Matthew Dunst, Nick and Connor Labozzetta, Jefferson and Elise Haadsma and John, Maddie and Andy Haadsma. Also surviving are his brother Dan Haadsma, his brother-in-law Dan (Pat) Antrim, Jerry (Nancy) Doyle and sister-in-law Barbara Doyle; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Following David's 1947 graduation from Union High School, he attended Michigan State University. David graduated from MSU and then proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. After his honorable discharge, David began his career in the automobile manufacturing industry. Some of his hobbies included golfing and spending time with his family. David will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. The Mass of Christian burial will be at 11am on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2275 Diamond Avenue, NE in Grand Rapids. Please join the family for visitation at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 6 to 9pm. An additional hour of visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at Blessed Sacrament. Memorials to David's memory may be sent to Wounded Warrior, Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods or Blessed Sacrament Church.
