

Donald Arthur Allen, aged 82, born on January 17, 1932, “cashed in his chips” and passed into the arms of the Lord on December 10, 2014. Surviving are his daughters Sandra, Krystine and Dave Homant, Kathy and John Friske, Sharon and Bud Eggleston, and sons Ken and Tom; grandchildren Toni, Bryan, Amy, Stacey, Nicole, Nicholas, Alivia, Gabby, Jackie, Ben, Beth and Dan; 9 great grandchildren; extended family Linda, Keith, Todd, and Michelle. Donald proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War in the 25th Infantry Division as a Tech Sargent. He was born in Grand Rapids, and raised in Canada. He married Louise Banaszak on April 24, 1954. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1991. Donald worked at American Seating for 44 years, retiring in 1992. Donald enjoyed golfing with his pals, playing cards at the Post, trips to the casinos, bowling and spending time with friends and family. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 47, in Comstock Park, volunteering his services to his fellow veterans. He loved watching his daughters and granddaughters play softball as their #1 fan over 25 years. Please join the family for a Celebration of Life which will be held at the Post 47 American Legion (3811 West River Drive, Comstock Park) on Saturday, December 13, at 11:00 am. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to either the American Legion Post 47, or donate a toy to Toys for Tots – there will be a collection box available at the Post.
