Donald Everett White

Donald Everett White, age 74, passed away on February 26, 2026 after a brief illness. Don was born in Grand Rapids on January 26, 1952, one of three children born to Edward and Barbara (Flanagan) White. Growing up, Don attended the area schools and graduated from Creston High School.

During school, Don met a cute girl named Kathie. They were quickly smitten with each other and soon tied the knot on November 30, 1973. Their family grew to include two daughters. Don provided for his family working for Quality Air Heating and Cooling; retiring after 45 years.

Over the years, Don was a member of the Boat & Canoe Club and the Casino Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and camping with his family. In his younger years he drag raced his VW Bug and there was always a NASCAR or Indy race on TV. Golf was a favorite sport to both play and watch.

A true friend to everyone, Don would do whatever he could to help, always going the extra mile to make sure support was where it was most needed. This extended beyond people to animals as well and over the years he and Kathie had numerous pets that they cared for and loved. His last furry family members included Buddy the dog and Harry, a big cat who thought he was a dog.

Don is survived his daughters Stephanie (Ken) Brewer and Katherine “Katie” White; his granddaughters Madison and Alivia; his granddogs Rigley, Duke and Bailey; his grandcats Mabel and Onyx, and his siblings Steven (Carol) White and Carolyn White as well as many other relatives. Don’s beloved Kathie preceded him in death in 2025 after 51 years of marriage as did his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday May 23, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Casino Club of Grand Rapids.

Memorial donations in memory of Don may be made to Harbor Humane Society.
