Eleanor Irene Stegehuis

Eleanor Irene Stegehuis age 81, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017 in the comfort of her home and in the company of her family. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1935 to the late Perl Glen and Ruth Winnefred Brailey. Along with her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years Robert Jay Stegehuis, brother Richard Brailey, sister Carol Magoon. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Mel (Joni) Smith, Bob (Maryanne) Stegehuis, Karen King (Robert Riordan), Steve (Denise) Stegehuis, her grandchildren, Kyle (Pamela) Smith, Heather (Derek) Parker, Tom (Kendra) Molette, Bryan Stegehuis, Gwen (Joe) Riordan, Stacy (James) Jett, Scott (Heather) McGleish, Alexandria King, Jason (Stephanie) Stegehuis, Stephanie (Stegehuis) Benham and Monica Dillingham, along with 23 great grandchildren, with another arriving February 2018. Also surviving is her sister Judy (Paul) Woody and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor loved spending time with her family. She was active in the Aberdeen Reformed Church. She liked researching genealogy, and enjoyed knitting and scrapbooking. Please join Eleanor's family for a time of visitation on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5-8 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Funeral Services, officiated by Pastor Ryan Landt, will be on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11 am at Aberdeen Reformed Church, (1000 Aberdeen St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505), with time of visitation one hour prior to the services at church.
