Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Fred was a common man with uncommon talents, and his strong, calloused hands left everything he touched better than he found it. He was an amazing mechanic, a woodworking craftsman, a life-long inventor, and a patient and intuitive teacher. Fred had the analytical intelligence and uncanny ability to “make things out of nothing.” Throughout his life, he was generous with his time, his knowledge, and his labor. Without being asked, he generously assisted family, friends, and neighbors in need. Fred was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father, a proud grandpa, and a loyal friend. With his loving heart, his endless good cheer, and great sense of humor, Fred made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. His love was so boundless and unconditional, that many people spoke of him as being their adopted Dad. When you were with Fred, you knew you were home. Even in his final battle with cancer, Fred still was trying to make things better for others. He maintained his good humor, his optimism, and his strength of character. To the very end, he showed us how to live a courageous and principled life. We are blessed and honored to have known and loved Fred Crosby. He will never be forgotten. Please consider a memorial contribution to Faith Hospice, 2100 Raybrook Se, Suite 300, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
