The lights went out on Howard James Gooden, aged 93, on October 2, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, June Gooden in 1992, his daughter and son-in-law Sally (Lee) Colgrove, and sisters Esther and Pearl. Surviving are his sister Violet, his children; Bruce, Susan, Sarah, grandchildren; Jeff, Amanda, Therese, Brian, Scott, Shelemiah, great-granddaughters Brianna, Yadonah and a very special great-grandson Aleksander. Howard was a member of the Masonic Lodge and proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Navy Seabees. He was the owner and operator of Go Electric for many years and will be remembered as a generous, caring person. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to the casino. Please join the family for Visitation on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 12 noon followed by interment at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Memorial contributions in memory of Howard may be made to the Dominican Sisters, Marywood Health Center.
