Howard Glenn Veltman

Howard Glenn Veltman, age 80, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday May 26, 2016 with family by his side. He was born in the fall of 1935 in Grand Rapids to Sidney and Swannie Veltman. Along with his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his sister Norma Veltman. Surviving Howard is his beloved wife of 57 years, Marilyn and their two children Paula (Jeff) Harris and Glenn (Mary) Veltman as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and brother Arthur (Donna) Veltman. He was a dedicated employee of Batts Incorporated for many years until his retirement in 1994. He and Marilyn were long time, active members of Calvary Church in Grand Rapids. Howard and Marilyn enjoyed time spent with family and friends at their summer home on Croton Pond. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. A funeral service has been scheduled to take place at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jeff Burr of Forest Hills Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will take place on same day beginning at 10:00 AM until the service time. Howard will be laid to rest in Fairplains Cemetery.
