Jack Robert Zylstra

Jack R. Zylstra, aged 82, passed away on September 7, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Lorraine Zylstra, brother Bill (Gerri) Zylstra, and grandchildren Krista and Jonathan Zylstra. Surviving are his wife of nearly 64 years Zelma; and their children, Gary (Patricia) Zylstra, Brian (Linda) Zylstra; grandchildren Joshua (Lauren) Zylstra, Nathaniel Brink, Sgt. Aaron Zylstra, Samantha (Lee) Hasse, Alexandria Zylstra, Rachael Zylstra, Chad Zylstra, Michael (Ruthie) Zylstra, Jenna (fiancé Devon Higgins) Zylstra, Alex Zylstra; as well as great-grandchildren Fisher Zylstra, Jack and Jane Zylstra, and Carson Hasse. Jack graduated from Creston High School in 1950. He joined the ROTC in the 10th grade and later was a member of the Army Reserves, serving for over 9 years. He was proud of his country and his flag. Please join the family for visitation on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Funeral Services for Jack will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11am at Calvary Church (707 East Beltline Ave. N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525) with an additional hour of visitation from 10-11am prior to the service.
