James W. Joldersma

James W. Joldersma, age 68, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. James was a retired Grand Rapids firefighter having served for 35 years. He had also been a volunteer firefighter for the city of Wyoming. He was a member of the Wyoming Moose Lodge #763 and the American Legion Post #47.

Mr. Joldersma was preceded in death by his parents, Syrus and Henrietta (Burmania) Joldersma and his son Michael Joldersma. Suriviving is his best friend and companion, Mary Davis; a brother Donald Joldersma; 3 children, James (Amy) Joldersma, Jr., Kimberly (Russ) DeRoos, and Marc Joldersma; 7 grandchildren; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Funeral services in celebration of the life of James will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. N.E, Grand Rapids with Rev. Dean N. Prentiss, pastor of Wesley Park United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
