Jeanette was preceded in death by: two infant siblings, Robert Pearson & Virginia Pearson; parents, Arthur & Loretta Pearson; husband, Robert Hall; sister, Karen Pearson Palmer; and sister and brother-in-law, Therma and John Kleersnyder.
A wonderful Mother and Grandmother, Jeanette is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Linda [David] Anderson, son Jeffrey [Heather] Hall, and daughter Nancy [Ray] James; Eight grandchildren: Michael [Lindsey] Anderson, Matthew Anderson [Zena Bibler], Alena Anderson [Ryan Clarida], Dylan [Ellyse] Hall, Daisy Hall, Daphne Hall, Katherine James, and Andrew James; Four great grandchildren: Margo Anderson, Maya Anderson, Violet Hall, and Max Clarida. Jeanette is also survived by her brother, Arthur Paul Pearson, brother-in-law David Palmer, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeanette was born in July 1934 to parents Arthur and Loretta [Bush] Pearson in Detroit, Michigan. The family moved to Muskegon and later settled in northeast Grand Rapids where Jeanette lived all her life. As a youth, she was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She worked at the D & C Dime store from 1947-1952 where her father was the manager. She graduated from Creston High School in 1952. She attended Grand Rapids Junior College for one year. From 1953 to April 1961, she worked for the City of Grand Rapids in the Purchasing Department. From November 1961 to July 1966, she worked in the Grand Rapids City Clerk’s Office.
In August 1960 Jeanette married Robert Hall. They were married 49 years until his death in 2010.
From 1986 to 1991 Jeanette worked for Foremost Insurance Company. She also served the city of Grand Rapids as an election worker and precinct chairman in the 1980s and 1990s. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Northview Senior Citizens.
Jeanette was an avid reader. She loved travel, Lake Michigan, beaches, lighthouses, sunsets and family time spent by the water “at the cottage”. She loved holidays, especially Christmas. She loved making Christmas cookies and, in the summer, strawberry and peach jam. She enjoyed taking photographs and left behind thousands of photos and memories of good times. Most of all she loved her family.
Jeanette was a resident of the Boulder Creek Assisted Living Community for 2 years. Many thanks to the staff for the care, companionship and compassion shown to Jeanette while she lived in that community. Thanks to Corsocare Hospice for their care and support.
Jeanette was a resident of the Grand Brook Memory Care community when she passed away. With deep gratitude, we acknowledge the love, kindness and compassion of the care staff and administration at Grand Brook Memory Care. They treated Jeanette like family and their support for our family has been immeasurable.
Thank you to Spectrum – Corewell Health Hospice. Your medical care, compassion, visits and support have been invaluable.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. A Funeral Service will take place the following day, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:00am, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2740 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. The family will welcome guests one hour prior to the start of the service. Jeanette will be laid to rest at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery in Standale.
