

Born in Milwaukee, WI. Graduate of Ottawa Hills High Scool, 1971. Attended Western Michigan University and yet he was extensively self taught, as well.
He had an enterprising, entrepreneurial spirit and owned multiple businesses, including
Canam Tube Tech where he did engineering, sales and training for tube fabrication equipment and worked with many automotive and aerospace OEMs. His career included extensive travel including internationally, especially to Japan and Italy.
His technical, engineering mind worked on many varied projects including vehicles, audiovisual presentation equipment and built his own speakers, cabinets included.
Jeff's many interests included his love of music, especially classical and fusion jazz, sailing and racing yachts, racing automobiles and motorcycles, reading, especially science fiction, and woodworking.
He had a wonderful sharp wit and a mischievous sense of humor.
Jeff loved his family dearly and could be counted on when help was needed. He supported each of his family members and especially nephew, Tim, who was given a tremendous start toward his future computer programming career through Uncle's close supervision, wise training and advise.
Jeff gathered loved ones at his home to dine often, sharing his specialties like smoked ribs with his own recipe barbecue sauce, homemade smoked sausages, and many more temptations. Jeff made every guest in his home feel welcome and at peace.
Jeff is preceeded in death by his father Gordon, mother Shirley, and is survived by his loving wife, Maria; children Victoria McDorman and Christopher Tapper (Alicia); grandchildren Lea, Lexie and Jesse Tapper; sisters Laurel Wynant, Sue Carey (Patrick) and Dianne Carey - Fegley (Wayne); Aunts Beth Schuenke of Lake Mills, WI, Lois Kinas of Milwaukee, WI; cousins Linda and Alison Schuenke and Daniel and Randall Kinas (Barbara), Wendy, Lynn and Luann Tapper; and many nieces and nephews.
The family invites you to a Memorial Visitation for Jeffrey on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00PM followed by a service starting at 6:30PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505.
