John Roede Jr.

John Roede Jr, aged 80, was reunited with his wife Andrea of nearly 50 years, on September 29, 2014. John was born in Highland, Michigan, the youngest sibling in a large Dutch family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. John worked in many capacities for over 38 years for the City of Grand Rapids Parks Department. He enjoyed time outdoors including camping trips, and he was also an avid hunter. Surviving are his children; Tim (Lauri) Roede of Seattle, Deborah Johnson, Todd (Irene) Roede of Grand Rapids, grandchildren; Jennifer Franks, Andrea (John) Wittner, Tammy (Kenneth) Murray, Katie Roede, James Schoenfield, Justin Roede, Trevor Roede, Jacob Roede, great-grandchildren; Paige Kt Murray and Amrie June Wittner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Please join the family at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 5-8pm and again on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 10-11am for visitation. Funeral Services in Celebration of his life will be held 11am on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery.
