John Ervin Snyder

John Snyder, age 80 of Grand Rapids, passed away with his family by his side Wednesday, October 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Herbert and sister Norma. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna of 64 years, children; Scott (Sandra Capone) Snyder, Sandi (Don) Prill, grandchildren; John and Scott II(Lauren) Snyder, Mike (Vanessa), Chris (Sarah) and Nick (Missy Ensing) Prill, great-grandchildren; Dustin, Chasidy, Katlyn, Jaden and Brooklyn Prill, sisters-in-law; Rae Snyder, Laverne Garchow, several nieces, nephews and friends. MSgt John Snyder retired from the Air Force and was an American Legion Member of Post 47. He loved to travel, enjoyed sports and was a talented wood worker. Most of all, his family will remember how he touched the lives of those he came in contact with through his kindness, reliability and genuine love of life. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at St James Lutheran Church 2040 Oakwood Ave NE with Rev James Blain officiating. Friends and relatives may greet his family on Monday from 5 to 8 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. For those who wish memorials may be made to St James School fund, American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice.
