Swanzy Sr., John David aged 87, went to his heavenly home on February 2, 2015. He was born in 1927 to James and Fannie Swanzy in Birmingham Alabama. John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sisters as well as his son Robert. Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years Barbara and their children John (Vicki) and Karen (Ron). Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. John was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an active member of UAW Local 167 and was a committed employee of GM for 33 years. He was also a proud veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army. Please join the family in celebrating John's life at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Thursday February 5, 2015 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, his funeral service at 11:00 am, and military honors following.
