
Karen K. Sweet, 74, passed away peacefully May 26, 2012. Karen loved the game of golf, traveling with friends and watching sporting events - especially the Michigan State Spartans. "Miss Sweet' taught school in the Northview Schools for over 30 years. She touched many lives through her teaching skills and love of life. Aunt Karen was the 'extra Mom' for her niece and nephews who she taught to ride bikes, throw a ball, ski, golf, value all the good life had to offer and look for the good in others. She was one of the "MOKKE's" with her dear friends and companions. Karen is survived by niece Susan (Roger) Martin of Apopka, FL; nephews Thomas (Deborah) Mitchell of Grandville, MI, David (Susan) Mitchell of Kent, WA and Robert (Angela) Mitchell of Grand Rapids, MI and their families; brother-in-law Robert Mitchell of Jenison, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Sweet, and sister Janet Mitchell. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31st at 2 pm at Second Congregational Church, 525 Cheshire Dr., Grand Rapids, MI.
