Kathleen "Cathi" Sue Sheneman

Cathi was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Schmidt; her loving husband Jim and her brother John Edward (baby Jackie). She is survived by her three children, Scott (Linda) Hula, Judy (Kaiser) Downing, and Tim Hula; nine grandchildren, Porsha (Logan) Furhman, Kate Hula (fiancé Jeremy Hagedorn), Jessica, Alec, Elizabeth and Abigail Downing, Kylie, Benton and Linsey Hula; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Marilyn (Bill) Lennon, Linda (George) Zeeff, Mike Schmidt (Jan Braden), Jack Schmidt (Gloria Sayen), Deb (Brian) Happie along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Cathi graduated from Catholic Central High School and went on to work for Meijer where she eventually retired.

Besides spending her time with her family and friends, Cathi had a passion for traveling, cooking, her monthly card club and being a member of the Red Hats Society. She cherished her dogs Teddy, Tilly and Snickers. Cathi had a love for Disney that was unmatched and we all know that God smiled when she pulled out her fast-pass to be the first in line for Heaven.

Cathi had a bright and energetic personality. She was a fierce fighter, a source of unconditional love and a woman of unwavering faith. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

The family invites you to a visitation for Cathi on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and then 6:00PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505.

A visitation will occur Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church (4351 Parnell Ave NE, Ada, MI 49301), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11:00AM, and presided by Father Mark Peacock. A burial will immediately follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
