Kathy was raised by parents that valued others and taught her by example. Being the oldest child, she helped raise her siblings as a helpful daughter. In her teen years, at Grand Haven High School, she sang in the choir and was in the Drama Club.
Kathy was the best wife and put up with me 52 years. God will give her extra stars in her heavenly crown for following me around planet Earth as a policeman, Special Agent and finally forced to be a preacher’s wife. These adventures caused her many fears and tears, but she stuck to her family like glue.
She gave me two fine son's and demonstrated her super strength and stamina by turning them into good Christian citizens.
Kathy became a born-again Christian in Phoenix at Northwest Community Church. She has ministered to thousands with her angelic voice and ability to teach God’s word since that glorious day.
As a Christian wife and my best friend, Kathy always stayed with the family. If we shot archery, pistols or went fishing, or got a ham radio licenses, she did too.
Kathy had a heart for the disadvantaged and worked for 20 years for Hope Network. Because of her loyal spirit she won the Hope Network “Extra Mile Award” twice. After a couple of years Kathy became a loving supervisor for the home of the most medically fragile residents in Kent County.
At the same time Kathy found time to help me with my ministry at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans by singing, running the chapel sound and PowerPoint system. For many years Kathy conducted a weekly devotional service in the lockdown unit on Thursday Mornings.
When she retired from Hope Network, she became a volunteer for the Salvation Army and did clerical work for Emergency Disaster Services and was Net Control for many emergency practice nets on the Ham Radio.
Her funeral service would take days if we told you a fraction of the blessings Kathy has been to others using every gift God gave to her.
Signed,
Greatly Blessed Husband
Bob
PS Thank You Lord Jesus
