Ken will be lovingly remembered and missed by his children, Robert Lee Weersing, Kimberly Ann nee: Cross (Chad) Little, and bonus children by marriage: Patrick (Janet) Lipzinski, John Scott Flanagan, Jennifer (Sean) Davies and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was especially dear to his granddaughter Graci with whom he shared so many lasting memories. Ken will also be greatly missed by his brother Ron (Jackie) Weersing, sister Judy (Doug) Oosdyke, his confidant and friend, sister in law, Barbara Weersing who was married to his twin brother for 58 years, and most especially his dear friend, bonus brother, and fellow Marine who shared in his lifetime of events, Rod (Bunny) Vanoveren.
A native of Grand Rapids and especially Comstock Park, Ken was also a very proud Marine and served with honor in Vietnam. He was hoping to someday visit in a time of peace to see the land in a state of restoration and beauty. He ultimately suffered from the effects of Agent Orange due to events during his time served. He loved to tell stories of his time in the service and could entertain his grandchildren for hours with a lively story or two. Ken had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed placing little toy army soldiers in various locations around the house and waiting to see who noticed. He loved to eat out, with the once renowned Swan Inn being a favorite spot, and was a generous patron wherever he went. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wallace Weersing, his mother, Helen Lillian (Adamson) Weersing, his twin brother Dennis Edward Weersing, and his beloved wife, Susan Marie (Parks) Flanagan Weersing whom he missed dearly.
