A creative and talented writer, Meg wrote columns for many area newspapers including Rockford Squire, Sparta Today and Coopersville Observer. She was also a lady of strong faith, and she was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Over the years, Meg and Dan opened their home and parented over 20 children that had come from Mexico to Grand Rapids for schooling.
Margarett is survived by her nephew Ronald (Diana) Texter and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years in 2007 as well as her sister Audrey (Peter) Saitz and brother Donald (Elaine) Norman.
Following cremation, Meg will be burial beside her husband at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery. No formal services are planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
