Mark Allan McDonald

Mark was born on March 27, 1961 to Elwood and Jeannette (Faust) McDonald in Owendale, MI. Mark graduated from Owen-Gage High School in 1979 and went on to graduate from Western Michigan University in 1984 where he was proud to have played football and remained a loyal fan of Broncos football throughout his life.

Mark was known as a kind and caring man who loved chatting with people about a wide variety of topics. He loved his family and always put them first. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for this family and friends. He was very proud to be a grandfather and his grandson meant the world to him.

On any given Saturday he could be found spending time with his family watching the Western football game, often with a beer in hand.

He is survived by his wife Carol; his children Katie (Sam) Butler, Becky McDonald (Gerry Givney); his grandson Calvin Butler, his siblings Dena (Dave) Harris, Darren (Martina) McDonald and their family; and many other family members.

A funeral service will be held on Friday September 1, 2023 at 12:00pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Avenue NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 with Glenn Aitama officiating. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home.
