Marlene May Bard

She was a 1950 graduate of Greenville High School and went on to study nursing at Sparrow Hospital. At the age of 52 she was determined to go back to school and further her education, and she earned her Bachelor's degree from Aquinas College. Marlene was a life-long member of 2nd congregational church of Grand Rapids. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time at her family cabin in Thompsonville near Crystal Mountain- you could find her watching the hummingbirds. She also loved Michigan State University and followed the men's basketball team. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Bard; and her parents, Ray and Velma. She is lovingly survived by: her children, Deb (Tim) Burbank, Dan (Jensine) Bard, and Cindy Larkins; grandchildren, Jenny (Jason) Norton, Jaeme Schepers, Sarah Adams, Matthew Larkins, and Dan (Amanda) Burbank; great-grandchildren, Kyle (Lady) Norton, Owen Norton, Katelyn Norton, Adam Norton, Emma Norton, Sophie Adams, and Mason Adams.

A funeral service for Marlene will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
