

Monica (Bowman) Verdier, nee McNamara, age 92, of Grand Rapids and previous resident of Port Charlotte, FL, for over 22 years. Monica passed into eternal life on January 26, 2014 and is predeceased in death by her husbands, Robert Bowman and Judge Robert Verdier; her granddaughter, Roberta Heinicke and her step-son, Patrick Verdier. Survived by her three daughters, Patricia Riley, Mimi (David) Szymczak and Bobbi Lareau; step-children, James Verdier, Mary (Steve Feola) Verdier and Steve (Donna) Verdier; grandchildren, Kelly Bodnar, Timothy Riley, Deb Scott, Karrie Roy, Andy Lareau and Dan Lareau; many great- and great-great-grandchildren. One of six children, she is survived by her brother, Lou McNamara. Monica will be remembered for many accomplishments in life, such as women's golf club champion at Maple Leaf Estates in Florida; being "Scrabble Champion"; worldly travels, ownership of A&B Employment Services; formation and management of Bowman Associates and Kelly Services; but most of all her love for her family and her Irish heritage. A lyric that Monica will always be remembered by "A bushel and a peck, and hug around the neck." A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM by Sister Gabriela from St. Ann's. Interment Private Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the St. Ann's Home. The family would like to offer a special "Thank You" to the staff of St. Ann's Home for the loving and patient care they have provided.
