Richard Vander Wulp

Richard Vander Wulp, age 85, of Grand Rapids passed away on August 15, 2025. He was born in Waddinxveen, Netherlands on January 1, 1940 to Leonard and Mary Vander Wulp. Richard graduated from Creston Christian High School. He was married to Carole Anne Postema on June 7, 1963.

Richard worked as a truck driver for Riverside Wood Products and Yakee Scripps. He had a passion for trucks, trains, boats and ships of the Great Lakes. He served in the Army National Guard in late 1960’s.

Richard was known for his easy going manner and caring attitude that endeared him to all who knew him.

He is survived by daughter Monica Vander Wulp and son Corey (Tina) Vander Wulp and grand children Reece and Lauren Vander Wulp and brother-in-law Renze DeGroot, niece Barb Petersen, nephew Steve De Groot and niece Renee Hinkle-DeGroot.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years Carole Vander Wulp, sister May DeGroot and his parents Leonard and Mary Vander Wulp.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday August 23 at North End Chapel. The family requests donations be made to Faith Hospice.
