Robert "Bob" William Bonner

Robert William Bonner “Bob” aged 84, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018. He was born in Detroit, MI in the summer in 1934 to the late Rex and Vivian Boner. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Madison Hubert, brother Gerald Boner and sister Alice Boner. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Roberta J. (Hobbs), their two daughters Janet Bonner and Julienne (Clark) Williams and his grandson Jack Hubert, as well as his brother Edwin Boner. Bob was a graduate of Wayne State University’s School of Mortuary Science and enjoyed a long and successful career in the funerary profession. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed sailing and was a member at Harbour Towne Marina. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for photography with the Grand Rapids Camera Club. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, (423 First St. Grand Rapids, MI 49504) with Rev. Dan Schumaker as celebrant. Visitation will be held Sunday August 5, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the Reyers North Valley Chapel with Rosary prayed at 6:30 pm.
