

Robert Eugene "Bob" McCoin, age 84, of East Grand Rapids, Michigan went to be with his Lord on April 7, 2015. He was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on May 20, 1930 and resided there until he went to serve in the U.S. Army 813th Engineering Aviation Battalion in 1947. He moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1950 and began working in the trucking industry for Alvan Motor Freight. Subsequently, he worked in the packaging industry at Rapid Packaging, and from 1971-1973 he worked in Ada, Oklahoma at Chemical Express. In 1973 he began working for Yellow Freight until he retired in 1992. After retirement, he worked until 2000 for the EGR Public Safety Department insuring the safety of the neighborhood children, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice, his parents, Richard and Marie and his siblings, Richard, Helen Pasley (Ralph) and Mary Katherine McKenzie (Maurice "Mack"). He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Marilyn; his siblings Betty West (Bill), Joy Epperly (Leo); his children Robert "Bobby" (Celia Obrecht), Michael (Diane), Cherilyn VanderHorn (Kirk), Maribeth DeHaan (Michael), Kimberly Hall (Kenneth); his grandchildren Joshua D., Katherine, Joshua, Rachel and Mackenzie, as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Keys for Kids ("The Children's Bible Hour"), Mel Trotter Ministries, or Gentiva Hospice. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, April 9 2015 from 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. An additional hour of visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10am on Friday, April 10, 2015 followed by his Funeral Service at 11am. Private Interment at Graceland Memorial Park.
