

Robert Lynn Starks, 82, of Remus, MI went to be with the Lord earlyThursday morning surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 23rd, 1928 in Remus, MI and was the son of the late Clenard Henry and Opal Bell (Shedell) Starks. Robert was a servant of God; he served and volunteered at God’s Helping Hands ministry that provided food to needy families. He loved church and serving God. Robert was known by all as a giver. He loved telling jokes, gardening, camping, and watching the RFD TV show. Robert always had a positive attitude and was a true warrior for God. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed attending church at Barrytown Church of God and Orchard View Church of God. Robert was retired press operator from Leigh Products. He is survived by his loving family to whom he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to. He is survived by his darling and loving wife of 54 years Gladys Winona (Karcher) Starks; three sons, Robert Lynn Jr, Scott, and Jesse Starks; a daughter Kathy (Randy) Mathieu; two grandsons David and Brian Mathieu, and a granddaughter Melissa (Isaac) Owens; a great grandchild Brooke (Brookes-my little running water as he loved to call her) Owens; two brothers Phillip (Marie), Steven (Nancy) and a sister Gwen Starks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Wendell Starks. A memorial service will be Sunday March 28th at 3:30 p.m. at the Orchard View Church of God with Pastors Gary Bryan, Mark Hall, and Steven Starks who is from First Church of God in South Havery. Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. up until the time of service at the church. Memorial Contributions can be made to the God’s Helping Hands in C/o Orchard View Church of God 2777 Leffingwell N.E., Grand Rapids, MI. Reyers North Valley Chapel located at 2815 Fuller Avenue, N.E. Grand Rapids are handling the arrangements.
