Roger William Uecker

Roger William Uecker, age 86, of Grand Rapids went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2018. He was born in Grand Rapids in the fall of 1931 to the late Emil and Lila [Passmore] Uecker. Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rita (Mahder) and their children Ruth (John) Lueders, Ronald (Tammy) Uecker, and Richard (Catherine) Uecker, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brother Burton (Lois) Uecker and sister-in-law Patricia Uecker. Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his son Randall Uecker, step mother Irma Uecker, brother Larry Uecker and half-brothers Dennis and Kim Uecker. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and had enjoyed a long and successful career as an independent tax and automotive accountant. He and Rita were active, longtime members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Roger will be remembered as a devoted and loving spouse, father and grandfather as well as an avid MSU fan. Visitation will take place from 4-7 pm on Friday, January 19, 2017 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Craig Bickel will be held on Saturday, January 20, at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, with an additional time of visitation beginning prior to the service at 10 am.
