

Ronald Bloom, When all the miles have passed, each traveler is meant to reach a loving home at last. Ron reached his loving home on March 18, 2012 at the age of 80. Ron was the first born son of Elvera and Harold Bloom. He was a good husband, father, brother and friend and he will be sorely missed by his wife Joan; sons, Curt (Mary), Scott (Janine), and daughter Kim; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and brothers Dave, Russ, Bob, and Jim. He was a Korean War Veteran serving the United States Air Force, 509th Ftr Bmr Sqdn, from 1951 to 1955. He worked as an industrial electrician for Johnson Electric for 30 years. He was well known in the Grand Rapids area for having great integrity for his work and the things that he did. After retirement, he and Joan wintered in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He also spent many years with his family enjoying fishing, hunting, and time in the North Country at Big Bass Lake in Irons, MI. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM on Friday till the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Friends of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans P.O. Box 805 Grandville, MI 49468-0805.
