Thomas S. Symko

Thomas "Tommy Kid" Symko, 63, Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, of Grand Rapids, entered into eternal life on January 30, 2014. Survived by his children Benjamin (Jessica) Symko, Anne (Jose) Rodriguez and Eric (Emily) Symko; grandchildren Benny, Sofia, Jose II, Jasmine, Jack and Cole; siblings Gail (Jim) Straub, Jim (Nancy) Symko, Phil (Sharon) Symko and Jane Symko; many nieces and nephews; dear friend Rick Townshend; all of his bowling and golf friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Dora Symko and his sister Mary Ann Symko. Tom will always be remembered as a family guy, who loved to spend his days at his grandchildren's school and sporting events, enjoying every moment with his children and grandchildren. Remembering Tom for his warm smile, kind heart and generous gifts of kielbasa are memories many will hold dear. Visitation will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Parish, 224 Carrier St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505, where Tom will repose on Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
