

Velma Lucille Mues, age 92, passed away on December 4, 2025, after a brief illness. Lucille was born at home in New Liberty, Illinois, on January 2, 1933, to Cecil & Odie (Mason) Davidson. After graduating from Golconda High School, Lucille spent time working for the State of Illinois as a records keeper.
On August 19, 1961, Lucille was united in marriage to Robert Dean Mues. As the wife of a minister, Lucille raised her children in a loving home with Christian values.
She believed in giving back to her community, and she gave of her time volunteering, over the years, Lucille dedicated time working at a second-hand store whose support was directed to the Bethesda Lutheran Communities, working on numerous committees within the churches that Dean was pastor, and in retirement volunteered for multiple voter polling areas, as well as helping in the memory care of residents at Covenant House.
Lucille was devoted to her family. She was generous with her love and time and will be remembered for living her life with a giving heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dean, in 2015; her siblings, Doris Ritchie and Thelma Davidson; and her brothers, Robert and CJ Davidson, as well as her parents.
Lucille is survived by her sons: Kevin (Candy-Lu) Mues and Tim (Caroline) Mues; her grandchildren: Marcus (Chelsey), Matthew (Devin), Joshua, and Lara Mues; her great-granddaughter, Blake; and her sisters Opal Melz and Jeri Noll as well as many other relatives.
Private services will be held, and burial with her beloved Dean will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
