

Ward Elroy Oberholtzer, age 93, of Comstock Park passed away in the comfort of his home on Thursday, November 3, 2016. Ward was born in the Fall of 1923 in Flint, MI to Isaac and Mynette Oberholtzer. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years; Vivian May [Earle] who died in March of 2010 as well as his sister Laurie Kerver and son-in-law Stanley Wheeler. Ward is survived by his children, William (Linda) Oberholtzer, Carolyn Wheeler, Kenneth (Marie) Oberholtzer; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He proudly served as a weatherman in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a dedicated employee of both Meijer Corp. and the Keebler Co. Ward enjoyed traveling and square dancing with Vivian and was an active member of the Civil War Round Table serving as President. He was also a loyal boy scout since his childhood in Flint, MI. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service with military honors will take place 11:00 am Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Friends and family may greet the family at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Ward will be interred next to Vivian in Blythefield Memory Gardens in Rockford MI.
