I remember Uncle Bill playing Santa Claus at my Grandma Johnson's house at Christmas time in her basement.  Of course we believed it was Santa but in the later years finally figured out it was Uncle Bill.  I have many fond memories of Aunt Dot and Uncle Bill. Will miss them dearly.

Uncle Bill and his camera,always will remember many picture taking events but seldom saw the finished prints.  Bill was very handy guy,free with tips and short cuts when things needed fixing.  I also remember his faithfulness to his fellow veterans and the pleasure of the tales from the reunions.  The later years with eyesight and other problems had to be a difficult period.  Thanks for the care and attention given by young Bill"y" Deyoung to Bill and Dorothy.

To my Wonderful Dad  you will be sadly missed and never forgotten. I will never forget what you and mom did for me and my brother Bill.I love you always! You and mom rest in Peace. From your one and only Daughter Patricia Dekker. Love you always. R.I.P.

***continued*** I consider it an honor to be brought up by such devoted parents which so much wisdom, patience, ask Pat about that one., understanding and love of us and life. Mom and dad had a good 60+ year run of a filled life and boy did they make the most of it. I could go on and on with the memories, like all the camping trips with our dog ginger that we got from grandpa George, and all the Sunday afternoons at grandmas house with the whole family there most of the time, or the santa clauses. I will m iss both of you for now but we will meet again before long. You hav both earned your sainthood as far as I am concerned. God Bless you with your new adventures. I love you both.

 There will be a gathering for all that wish to attend on Mon. the 19th of March at Cheers on Plainfield at 9:30 A.M****************Mom and Dad, where do I start?  I have been so blessed for two people to go out of there way to adopt in the first place. You are both truly my parents. Once you heard Bills laugh, you will never be able to forget it. Happy, joyful, always laughing with  a glee in his eyes. He loved to pick on mom then laugh. I could only hope to be filled with as much life as he possessed. Ambitious beyond belief . My whole life he would be up until wee hours of the morning,then sit in the kitchen chair and get a nap for an hour or two and be right back at it never quitting always tinkering with somthing. He never told me but going thru papers I saw he had 5 Bronse Stars from the military plus other awards. He was (is) alway so proud about when his company pulled out of Greenland and only 3 or 4 men were still assigned there that him, being the top dog, got to eat with the British OFFICERS) I capatilized officers because that  made him so proud to associate and eat with  what he said was some of the best food he had ever eaten to that day. He had a german luger here at the house until he recently sold it becase they said that they didn't expect to be around as long, I hope they made another trip to Florida from it.   And I will always remember the time dad and I were riding in the country and passed some cows.  I must have been about 5 years old then. He told me that all chocolete milk came from brown cows. I beleived him of course, he was laughing for a week, now I know why. I went to school soon after, proudly announcing to all my friends where chocolet e milk came from at which time a bully and I disagreed and I came home with a bruised eye and tar on my new D.A.'s bluejean jacket.  That really made mom happy. ha.......or the times she told me about floating down stream with her bloomers being the only thing keeping her afloat when she was young, or the time in our 16' boat, the pink lady, in the channel in Grand Haven when we started to sink and was rescued by the coast guard, I can still see the look on her face. Or the times dad, Pat and I would jump on the BMW with side car, with me or Pat wearing a bright fluroscent  orange helmet with wholes in it, going by kewpees then on to GM to take mom a burger for her dinner. What a sight that must have been. Dad would tell me over and over again that when he was a teenager he would help his dad,(John)  with the milk run. Their horse Lady, would stop at every stop every day, even if the people didn"t get a delivery but every other day. He would tell me that he would have to get some bottles out of the wagon and put them in the metal crate, walk half way up the sidewalk, turn around, get in the wagon before they could coax lady to go to the next house.
