He was born October 7, 1941, in Buffalo, New York, the only child of the late Frederick and Charlotte Meyer (Bebak).
William is survived by his three children, Frederick Meyer, Julie Rowe and Krista (Tyson) DeJonge. As well as five grandchildren, Cassy (Justin) Stout, James Dargenio, Hunter Rowe, Austin Inosencio and Jordan Inosencio.
William’s father was the first director of John Ball Zoo, which brought the family to Grand Rapids. Working there as a young adult, William could tell you story after story about the animals and reptiles, knowing them all by name, including their family pet boa constrictor, Beulah.
The family will be forever thankful to the caring team with Emmanuel Hospice who helped take care of our father through his cancer journey. The family will be having a small private service.
