Marsha Reid, 78, of Kansas City, MO went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 8, 2025.
Marsha was born on September 7, 1947, in Neosho, MO to Kenneth and Erma (Rogers) Bagby. The family moved to Belton, MO where Marsha grew up and finished High School.
Marsha met David Reid through church activities associated with Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base near Belton, MO. They married in 1968. Dave was the love of her life. For part of their marriage, she was a military wife when he served in the Air Force. They were devoted to each other and to their kittens, Clementine, Beau, and Mickey. Marsha always enjoyed cooking. She liked to clip recipes, take an occasional cooking class, and try out new desserts to please Dave’s sweet tooth. The two of them enjoyed traveling together and sampling new places to eat. Locally, they were regulars at Winstead’s where the waitresses knew their names and orders by heart.
Marsha worked faithfully as a Systemic Analyst at Hallmark Cards, Inc., and retired in 2007. Marsha was not only known for her love of kitties, but also bunnies, Coca-Cola, and Hallmark collectibles. Pink was a favorite color in her wardrobe. During her spare time, Marsha enjoyed reading, watching mysteries, shopping, putting together puzzles, and solving crosswords. Her favorite sports teams were, of course, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
Marsha cherished her long-lasting relationships with family and close friends. Marsha was a kind person; and it delighted her when she could find the perfect little gift to give away. Marsha’s faith in God was a constant in her adult life. She often prayed for the concerns of others and would share a word of encouragement.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, David Reid.
A visitation service will be held Tuesday, December 16, at 10:00-12:00 at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, MO 64030. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Wayside Waifs animal shelter (htps://waysidewaifs.org) in Marsha’s memory.
