

Mildred Inez Tyner, 86, of Belton passed away June 2, 2010 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit. Celebration of life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 26 at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut Belton, MO. Visitation 1-2 prior to service. Contributions suggested to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. Mildred was born June 17, 1923 in Healdton, OK to Henry and Mattie McLain. In 1942 she graduated from McLish High School in Fittstown, OK and moved to this area in 1958. She retired from Western Electric after 22yrs of service. She did volunteer work through the Red Cross as a Gray Lady at Richard's-Gebauer Air Force Base; she was a member of the Red Hat Society and an honorary member of the Khrome Cowgirls. Some of the things Mildred enjoyed were traveling, cake decorating, still-life painting, quilting, knitting, crocheting and working jig-saw puzzles but most of all she loved being with her family. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jarvis Tyner (1964), son James Tyner (2002) and sisters Gertie Stevens and Betty Jean McLain. Survived by four children, Don Tyner (wife Pam) Lexington, KY, Linda Semlor (husband Ed) St. Charles, MO, Dennis Tyner (wife Barb) Eatonton, GA and Judith Miller of Kansas City, MO; brother John McLain of Council Grove, KS; sister Ruth McLain of Topeka, KS; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
