Paul Dean Christiansen

Paul Dean Christiansen, 72, died on July 22, 2023 in his home. He was born on January 24, 1951 in Algona, Iowa the son of Mads Christiansen and Edith (Peterson) Christiansen. Paul graduated from the Algona High School class of 1969. After High School he moved with his parents to his brother Al’s home in Wood Dale, Illinois. There he met the love of his life Debora (Deb) Piper. They married on August 26, 1972.

Paul had a long career in Wastewater management. He first worked for the city of Wood Dale, Illinois, Carol Stream, IL and then moved out of state to work in Newton, Iowa and then from there, he went to Storm Lake, Iowa and then onto Warrensburg, Missouri. After working for the city of Warrensburg he went to Jet Tech where he was a field service manager going all over the world to start up wastewater plants. His travels had taken him to Norway, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Canada, Porto Rico, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Spain, Poland, Hawaii, St. Croix, St. Thomas, and Jamaica. For 6 month he worked in the UK at Selby, Manchester and York and also traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland. A few times he had traveled to some of these places twice.

Paul has been a long-time member and past-president of the Kansas City Corvette Association. Paul and Deb have made a lot of great friendships thru there and did a lot of traveling with the club. Great memories for sure.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Alvin Christiansen and his sister Edy Julius. Surviving, in addition to his wife Deb (Piper) Christiansen, are his two sons Erik P. Christiansen (Jill) from Lees Summit, Missouri, Kyle D. Christiansen (Jeffery) from Washington D.C.; sister Jean Miller (Dennis) and brother Wayne Christiansen (Jan) and so many family & friends.

A celebration gathering for Paul will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:30 PM at McGilley & George Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, MO 64030, preceded by a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
