Roy Stewart Hunter, 83, of Independence, Mo. formerly of K.C. MO. passed away December 20, 2010. Visitation will be 6-7 PM and the service following at 7:00 PM, Monday, December 27 at McGilley & George Funeral Home 12913 Grandview Rd Grandview, MO. He will be laid to rest in the Sabetha Cemetery in Sabetha, KS at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 28th. Roy was born June 18, 1927 in Sabetha, KS to Charles and Dollie Stewart Hunter. He was a member of the Trinity Church of the Brethren in Sabetha. He was an elevator operator at the Muehlebach Hotel before starting a career as a security officer with several companies before finally retiring from the Kansas City Auto Auction after 23 years of service in 1993. Survived by sons, Charles and wife, Carolyn Hunter Kansas City, MO, Roy Joseph Hunter Mt. Airy, NC; daughter, Mary and husband, Bill Meyer Mundelein, IL; sister, June Pugh Fairmont, MO; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
