
He was in reunited in Heaven with his parents, Gerald and Anna Thompson and brother Raymond Thompson.
Alvin will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 56 years, Jean; his children, Kathleen David Byker of Grandville, Marla Tom Stack of Wyoming, and Dennis Susan Thompson of FL; his grandchildren, Julie Regan Reynolds, Rebecca Joshua Everhart, Joseph Byker; Tyler and Chelsea Stack, and Kaitlin Thompson; great grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn and Zachary; sisters, Fran Bob Lampen, Gerrie Thompson; sister-in-law, Barb Thompson; also several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Alvin’s Homegoing will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 20th at Wyoming Park United Methodist Church, 2244 Porter St. SW in Wyoming, with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Gordon Spalenka officiating.
Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building 4235 Prairie St. SW in Granville and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions in Alvin’s name may be made to The Good Samaritan Orphanage in Haiti 3845 Navaho Ct., Grandville, 49418.
