My mother did her best to make our childhood happy with those lovely motherly deeds that we remember the rest of our lives... fresh baked cinnamon bread, homemade chicken soup, hand sewn Halloween costumes, hand painted ceramics, wild mushrooms and huckleberries picked in the forest, home made birthday cakes, apple pies and blueberry pancakes.
 Mom worked hand in hand with my father, Ken, to build or remodal three houses, a cottage and a barn. She grew wonderful vegetable gardens, fruit and walnut trees. Her rhododendron bushes bloomed profusely and her Christmas cactus still thrives.

Mike, I'm very sorry for your loss. I know you loved your mom very much, and you were a great son to her. Trust that she is in heaven now and that the last year or more of her pain and confusion are over forever.
