I remember each time Art would drive his ElComeno over to Kim's. It always gave me warm memories of my own father. And his little red truck! And driving his tractor down the road, even when Mary would be upset about it!

Great times in high school. Cruising the countryside in his yellow Packard convertible, (much better than my red pick-up truck). Also the dollar bet he won from our teacher Mr. Wind when we proved his blue Packard 4-door could go 80 mph in low gear. (It had overdrive that could engage in low).
 The good cookies and coffee his Mom always had on hand for us when we stopped in on our way back to school from gym class in the afternoon.
 His parents lived on the main four corners in town so Elmer could always keep track of our escapades on Halloween.
 But especially the fine friendship that has lasted through the years, and the good times the four of us have shared.

Grandpa was a special man. He was funny and such a Godly example of what a husband looks like on earth. Grandpa was such a caring, gentle, fun loving man that it is hard to choose just one memory to leave here. When I offered to put together the picture memory boards for the visitation and funeral the first picture I thought of was grandpa licking his clear dessert plate at the table (which my mom will tell you is a no-no at grandma's table). He was a mischievous grandpa :). I will always remember grandma saying Arthur! when she saw him giving his grand kids the sign that it was o.k. to lick the chocolate off our plates too. Grandpa you will be deeply missed back here on earth but I look forward to the day when I join you in heaven. I love you!

I couldn't have had a more loving brother-in-law for 36 years than Art. He loved his family, his cars and his garage. I'll always remember his garage as being a showplace for models of trucks and cars he has owned, the place he washed his car every day except on Sundays, and the cute country accents that were Mary's touch. We had great times together through the years on reunions and vacations. Art - I still love you and will always remember how much you loved us. Can't wait to see you in heaven. Love, Roberta

First off I would like to say that grandpa was one of the best men I knew, and him and I had a special bond from the start, we even shared the name Arthur. Although it would frustrate him because the only time my mother used it was when i was in trouble or had done something wrong because it was my middle name. One of the many memories that I have of my grand father is that one day he picked me up from some where and was probably taking me for ice cream or some thing. I do no even remember where we were going or coming from but I do remember that car ride. It wa in the el camino. We were driving down the free way and we heard a noise. Then saw a flash of something coming off the car. One of the hub caps had fallen off. So grandpa being grandpa turned around and we had to look for what seemed like forever in the median of the free way to find that hub cap. Looking back I now realize how important that original hub cap was. At the time it was just a thing that he made me walk through the median of a busy freeway to look for. now that I am older and that I to am also a "car guy" I understand the importance of that hub cap. Lol. I am very fortunate to have received the opportunity to know my grand father for 22 years. He was a giver and a lover. Grandpa you will be sorely missed! With love your grandson joe.
