

GARDE - Betty Louise Garde, age 88, of Grand Rapids, MI died peacefully and passed into the arms of Jesus her Savior on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Theodore and Geraldine Miling, and her sister, Alice Roh.
Betty is survived by her daughter Terri (Marc) Kidder of Grand Rapids, MI, her son Stephen (Laurie) Garde of Sun City, FL, her son, John (Debbie) Garde of Boynton Beach, FL, her grandchildren Kimberly (Brett) Bolt of East Grand Rapids, MI, Angela Kidder of Moorpark, CA, and Ross (Georgina) Kidder of Hollywood, CA, Jennifer (Eric) Howell of Tampa FL, Sean Garde of Tampa, FL, Carissa Garde of Boynton Beach, FL, her great-grandchildren Braydon Bolt, Brielle Bolt and Beckett Bolt of East Grand Rapids, MI and Asher Kidder and Olivia Kidder of Hollywood, CA, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, and their extended families.
Betty was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She will be dearly missed by all. Betty grew up and spent most of her adult life in Wyoming Michigan. She was devoted to her family. She moved to Boca Raton, Florida when she was 55 years of age, and spent close to 30 years enjoying the warm weather. Betty was very involved in her church, St. John the Evangelist, while living in Florida. She was a Eucharistic Minister for several years. She participated and led many activities including the annual church bazaar, Senior Brunches, Bingo and Monday morning counting. Betty was a bookkeeper and loved to spend her leisure time working on counted cross stitch, crocheting, knitting, puzzles, and reading. Much of her art work graces the homes of her family and friends. She returned and spent her final years in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The family expresses its sincere gratitude to the loving and caring staffs of Heather Hills Retirement Village, Porter Hills Village, Emmanuel Hospice, and Cook Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, Michigan, on December 28, 2016, with a fellowship gathering commencing at 10 a.m., and the service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Grandville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
