She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Friend and Delia Patterson.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Jacob VanDyke; children Deana (Bob) Haase and JoAnn Goodman; seven grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th Street, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018, with visitation one hour prior, at New Life Baptist Fellowship, 6252 Burlingame SW, Byron Center. Pastor C. Powers Payton officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
