Boyd Erik DeVries, age 51, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his twin daughters Brooke and Jessica DeVries, and his mother, Barbara DeVries. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lisa DeVries; daughters Emma DeVries, Audrey DeVries, and Taylor DeVries; parents Donald and Carolyn DeVries; brothers Barton (Beth) DeVries, Brad (Catherine) DeVries; nieces and nephews Alyssa, Aaron (Ellie), Daniel, Rebekah, Bryce, Breia, and Brent; and many extended family, friends, and especially his DU brothers.
Boyd enjoyed traveling, drawing, and spending time with friends and family. Boyd had a contagious personality and could become a friend to anyone he met. He had a gentle and caring way about him. Most importantly, he loved Christ and his faith was important to him.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Ml 49418. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Ml 49418, with visitation one hour prior. In memory of Boyd and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to assist with Boyd's daughters' college expenses.
