

Brian was born on January 15, 1962, in Ishpeming, Michigan to Rodney and Carol (Heikkinen) Carlson.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; son, Eric; daughters: Kaleigh, Abigail, & Elizabeth; brother Dan Carlson; cousins, nieces and nephews: Laura, Anya and Matthew Carlson, Christopher, Tara, and Shannon Heald; William and Kristi VanDam. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Matt and Hilma Heikkinen, and Henry and Lydia Carlson.
Nature was Brian’s sanctuary, the place he felt closest to God. An avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking. He was also a dedicated runner extraordinaire. Brian enjoyed Camp up north and the memories made there with friends and family. Brian started his career at Jack Harvey & Associates followed by Enco Marketing where he loved his career and the friends he made there for the last 13 years.
Brian loved and adored his wife Kim of 29 years. He raised his four children, teaching them discipline, perseverance and humility. He truly felt at peace when he was immersed in nature and enjoyed spending every moment he could outdoors with his beloved dogs; Milo, Matti, and Buddy. Brian lived his life to the absolute fullest. His energy, unique sense of humor and enthusiasm for life was contagious and will continue to move on forever through those he loved.
Brian's family welcomes family and friends to visitation from 6 - 9 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, MI. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 with visitation one hour prior to service at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building). Pastor Karen Stokes will be officiating.
In honor of Brian and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brian Carlson Fund for charity, at Lake Michigan Credit Union in Jenison, MI.
