Dr. Reverend Burdette Faulk, age 92, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Klas Henning and Anna Faulk. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lydia Faulk; children Marilyn (David) Hudson, Karin (Dennis) Nelson, Kevin Faulk (deceased; survived by his wife Lori), and Steven (Susan) Faulk; grandchildren Heidi DenBesten, Matthew Hudson, Heather Klein-Wassink, Jonathan Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Kevin Faulk II, Kaley Laug, Kody Faulk, Ella Faulk, and Katherine Faulk; and nine great-grandchildren.
Burdette (known as Bud) was born of Swedish immigrants in 1927. As a young teenager in Jamestown, NY, he had an encounter with God that set his course for a lifetime of ministry, including 50 years of pastoring churches in Michigan, both with the Assemblies of God, and most recently, the Evangelical Covenant Church. He fulfilled his calling with integrity and purpose, impacting many lives for Christ.
Anybody who knew Bud in his prime knew what a fun, energetic optimist he was! He loved to make people laugh. He was always working on a collection: coins, cameras, guns... He enjoyed daily walks in the woods, hunting, photography, many outdoor activities, and taking his family on vacations.
His family will always be thankful for the kind and loving father he was, and the spiritual heritage he passed on to the next generation.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park. In honor of Dr. Faulk and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church which was dear to his heart: Church Revitalization. Checks can be made out to “Great Lakes Conference” (with memo of “Revitalization” or “Faulk Memorial”), and mailed to 6900 N. Haggerty Rd., Suite 90, Canton, MI 48187.
The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.
